Description : AnimationMentor is looking for an enthusiastic Product Manager who wants to make a difference in the way people learn and communicate online. At Animation Mentor, we teach people the art and craft of animation through our online learning platform and personalized instruction. Our instructors work at top studios such as Pixar, Disney, Industrial Light & Magic, and DreamWorks during the day, and teach our students the art and craft of animation at night.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will be accountable for driving the product lifecycle strategies for new eLearning programs in the area of digital animation. You will conduct customer, market, and competitive research in order to deeply understand market requirements and customer's needs, while ensuring that new courses and programs support business objectives. You must be passionate about knowing, understanding and being an advocate for customers. Effective cross-team coordination and people-management skills are essential, as the position will interact closely with software engineers, school administrators, marketing, creative production staff and executives. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, opportunities and risks

You must be a strong leader who can drive consensus across the organization and be an excellent communicator who can articulate instructional design goals and trade-offs to senior executives. You should have a proven record of transforming a vision into clearly prioritized product requirements and delivering products to market.

QUALIFICATIONS:
This opportunity requires excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Qualified candidates should have experience defining projects, collecting requirements, analyzing feature costs/benefits writing functional specifications, coordinating efforts to scope, prioritize, and deploy new features sets; and communicating a vision throughout the organization.

The right individual will:
• Have 3+ years of product management experience.
• Have strong product management skills, strategic planning to tactical activities – preferably with experience in web-services or eLearning services.
• Have experience in a variety of methods of understanding customers, with a passion for understanding their motivations and concerns.
• Have sufficient technical knowledge to work closely with web development and media production teams.
• Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and personal initiative.
• Have strong business judgment and a demonstrable record of successful decisions.
• Have the ability to innovate and inspire innovation from others.
• Be passionate and have an ability to inspire passion in others.
• Have relentlessly high standards.
• Maintain composure in the face of ambiguous environments and constant change.

Pluses:
• Experience in on-line or arts education.
• Experience working on teams using Agile frameworks and development techniques such as Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Test Driven Development, etc.
• Have education in the technical and/or business domains (CS and/or MBA degree).
