Description : The Tracking and Targeting Product team is responsible for tracking how users interact with eBay both on and off the site. The data that is captured via the tracking infrastructure is consumed by downstream analytics teams and then used by the vertical teams to optimize user experiences and by executives to guide eBay's core marketplaces business. Providing clean, quality data is critical to the overall success of eBay.



With this in mind the Tracking team has two primary objectives: 1.) Build and maintain the tracking infrastructure and 2.) Insure the integrity of the data that flows through the tracking infrastructure.



ResponsibilitiesThe Tracking PM for Search Engine Marketing will be responsible for the following:

-Developing deep subject matter expertise of the eBay Tracking Infrastructure and the functionality that has been developed for the Internet Marketing teams; Must act as a subject matter expert for all in-house and third-party tracking implementations within the Search Engine Marketing (SEM) team;

-Developing deep subject matter expertise of the SEM business by building strong relationships with business, product, development and QA teams; Must act as a subject matter expert for all reporting that these teams use to measure the health and determine the success of their business;

-Acting as the functional/technical owner of the end-to-end tracking implementation for Search Engine Marketing projects; Must develop and maintain the feature roadmap that will extend the Tracking Infrastructure to support the SEM businesses;

-Identifying impacts to the data model as the tracking infrastructure is extended to support future requirements;

-Working closely with the Tracking Operations team for all projects within the SEM team to ensure tracking and reporting requirements are implemented correctly on third-party sites so that the tracking events are emitted and captured correctly;
Experience

-A minimum of 7 years of product management experience in the area of electronic commerce

-A strong technical background; previous experience in product development, quality assurance, and/or quality engineering

-Previous leadership and people-management experience;

- Strong analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of Product Management and ability to successfully manage all phases of the product development lifecycle, including:

o Requirements gathering and documentation

o Project management (tracking milestones across development, QA, and operations teams)

o Feature analysis / measurement

-Background in and deep understanding of on-line and traditional commerce

-Understanding of search engine technology and / or query-driven search a must

Basic Qualifications Education

-MBA or Equivalent work experience



Other Key Skills/Experiences

-Strong business acumen and deep product strategy background

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must

-Proficiency with MS-Office applications; Must be especially proficient with Excel
